| Farm & Agribusiness Coverage |
|
Farm and Agribusiness* owners face many
challenges and complexities in managing their businesses. Most don't
even realize that they are underinsured. Below are some of the areas
where Farm and Agribusiness owners often fall short in their coverage: |
|
Farm Program covers dwelling and household
personal property, farm personal property, as well as barns, buildings
and other farm structures. Liability coverage includes injury and property
damage, medical payments, advertising injury and farm pollution. |

| Agribusiness |
|
|
| Loss of Income |
covers the loss of income right after the loss occurs.
Also, this coverage helps if it takes longer than expected to resume
normal business operations. |
| Extra Expense |
For the business that needs to stay in
operation at all costs, extra expense coverage provides reimbursement
for the extra costs it takes to keep the business running |
|
| Agritainment |
If you are thinking about providing "agritainment" on your farm,
such as a hay ride, or corn maze, talk to your agent first - you may
not be covered for liability if someone gets hurt. |
|
| Recreational Vehicles |
If you have a 3 or 4 wheeler, or other "recreational" type
vehicles on your farm, you may only be covered off the premises when
using for farm activities. If you use these vehicles for non-farm
activities off your premises, you may want to discuss your insurance
coverage with your agent. |
|
| Product Liability |
A typical farm liability policy may not cover your liability for
products you sell on your farm. You may need additional product liability
coverage in case of food-borne illness or other potential problems
with the product you sell. |
|
| *In agriculture, agribusiness is
a generic term that refers to the various businesses involved
in food production,
including farming, seed supply, agrichemicals, farm
machinery, wholesale and
distribution, processing, marketing,
and retail sales. |
